I am a home daycare provider and have been providing care for a child since he was 3 months old.  He is now 22 months. When I first stated watching him the doctors labeled him "Failure to thrive". After 3 months of expensive and extensive testing they finally found the problem. A rare condition, all fluid that was meant to go to his stomach was sent directly to the lungs. He was literally starving to death. They placed a feeding tube immediately to nourish is vanishing infant body.  He is now 22 months old and is very small for his age; after 2 failed surgeries he needs another.  The surgery is to repair the problem so that hopefully he will be able to eat and drink. The reason I am telling you this- His parents have borrowed over 40,000.00 from banks and family to provide therapy and out to network specialist to try and help their child have a normal life.  They are out of recourses. Seeing the daily stress on the parent’s faces is hard.  He is due to have another surgery In May to hopefully fix the problem. Once again this surgery is out of state and not fully covered by the insurance. They could use any help anyone could provide. (Plane tickets, hotel, medical expenses???) If you cannot help say a prayer for this child and I hope this will be his final surgery.
